David has a degree in civil engineering and before joining Hill Robinson as a technical manager, he was responsible for the production and quality control in a large factory in Portugal. He has also worked in London as a site manager and established his own marketing business.

Since then, David has qualified as a chief engineer and has worked aboard yachts for over 10 years. He is also a qualified class surveyor.

As a technical manager, David provides technical consultancy to a fleet of yachts, supporting them in their day-to-day requirements. He is responsible for planning maintenance periods and anticipating maintenance needs, and coordinating inspections for flag and class requirements.

David enjoys being part of the team that ensures yachts operate to the highest standards, and doing what he can to improve onboard safety.
