Cat grew up in South Florida and studied industrial design. After completing her degree, she began her yachting career as a crew member. With a good eye for detail, she swiftly evolved into Fleet Interior Coordinator, overseeing the condition and finish of Italian new-build yachts, after which she started a Marine Surveyor Apprenticeship, evaluating several yachts ranging in size from 30m to 100m.
