The Bahamas reaffirms position as ideal charter destination
The recent Bahamas Charter Yacht Show and Hill Robinson’s familiarisation trip on Baha Mar’s fleet of yachts verified the appeal of the Bahamas as a charter destination.
The Bahamas has reasserted its position as one of the most sought-after yacht charter destinations. The Hill Robinson charter management team recently attended the Bahamas Charter Yacht Show and hosted a familiarisation trip to showcase the Baha Mar fleet, with both events attesting to the appeal of the region.
Held from 25 to 28 January 2024 in Nassau, the second Bahamas Charter Yacht Show attracted a significant increase in attendance compared to the inaugural edition last year. “There were over 50 quality yachts over 30m presented and a good turnout of brokers,” comments Hill Robinson’s Head of Charter Management Nicolas Fry. “It’s definitely a growing show in a popular charter destination.”
Following the show, Hill Robinson organised a familiarisation trip in partnership with Baha Mar resort and its fleet of charter yachts, encompassing the 65m ETERNITY, the sportfish yacht REEL TIME and day boat ISLAND TIME. Leading charter brokers from 10 different brokerage houses were invited to obtain further knowledge of the resort, the three boats and the variety of guest experiences on offer.
The first day was spent at anchor on board ETERNITY, where guests were treated to a delicious, Amalfi-style lunch and an opportunity to enjoy the yacht’s extensive amenities. “The brokers were particularly impressed with the quality of the food and the exceptional hospitality provided by the crew,” reports Nicolas. “The afternoon was spent relaxing on the aft deck and swimming in the pool on the foredeck. Being at anchor meant they could truly appreciate the ETERNITY charter experience.”
The brokers could choose to spend the following day cruising around the island and snorkelling on board ISLAND TIME, or fishing for wahoo, mahi mahi and barracuda on board REEL TIME. The group also had the opportunity to acquaint themselves with the Baha Mar resort. The feedback received was overwhelmingly positive, with one broker commenting; “This fam trip left a wonderful impression of the Hill Robinson team, reaffirmed the Bahamas as an ideal charter destination and the yachts as superb client options. The addition of Baha Mar and Albany amenities elevates a charter experience to new heights!”
